WGA Strike

November 8, 2007

Ok, so I don’t post a lot anymore. When I do, like now, you know it’s important. And this issue is very important.

Readers of this blog know that I am a very big fan of great TV. And what does great TV require? Great writing. However, this may be a problem, as the Writers Guild has recently gone on strike. That means the people behind some of the best shows on TV (24, The Office) are picketing outside studio lots. Time has a good article on this recent turn of events.

The writers have also set up a blog that has a lot of informative posts about what’s happening and how people like us can help. Go have a look around and spread this news to your friends (who may or may have not heard)!

Despite my sadness for the stoppage on production of my favorite show, The Office, I have to say that I wholeheartedly support the writers in their quest to gain fair compensation. For all they’ve done for me (and countless others), they deserve to have their (from what I hear, very reasonably) demands met

If you have any ideas on how we can all help, feel free to leave some comments!

p.s. Here’s a video blog featuring some cast members / writers from The Office.
