Remember OneNewsNow? The Christian site that was responsible for this debacle involving Tyson Gay’s name and an automatic filter? They make sports cards too.

Must. Type. Faster.

Like Typing of the Dead, but online multiplayer. And very addictive. Play TypeRacer now. Me and my 96 WPM will be seeing you around.

(thanks to Kotaku)

Then again…throwing back baseballs just to do it really pisses off Reds announcer Marty Brennaman (who is a beast).

I can’t believe I share the same hometown as some of these fools.

Thoughts for Thursday

Almost time for midterms. Then again, I could be taking 4 classes…

Anybody familiar with MATLAB? A poorly conducted 50 minute tutorial was definitely not enough to make me understand its workings.

According to Forbes, that number would be a little more than 5. That’s right, it would take a little over 5 Tampa franchises to equal how much the Yankees are worth (256 mil to 1.3 bil). Ridiculous? Definitely. The White Sox are in the middle of that list, worth about 443 million. Despite the bad season last year, the Sox still played to 82% capacity at The Cell and the franchise’s value grew 16% from last year. Not too bad, I’d say.

Read more about the report at Flop City, or get the numbers straight from the source.

Who Likes Sports?

April 13, 2008

My good friend Justin has recently started a sports-themed blog named Flop City. If you’re interested in hearing what he has to say (and he is VERY informed), head over to see what it’s all about. I think he only has one post right now, but he’s working on several more and you might even see a familiar author (hint) do a couple of posts every now and then.

Flop City, not a poker blog.

…are for Listhost Basketball League. That is all.

Ahem…

March 19, 2008

Dear Readers:

Sorry for not being timely with the updates. It’s been a little crazy here with finals. I am not kidding when I say that I’ve been going nonstop for the past week, finally being able to take a breath because my last final is on Friday (though I am going to the library as soon as I get through with this post.

I would be lying to say that things have been going well, but there have been some positives, like:

1. May Level - 94 straight hours of occupation in the A-Level. Sick. And many games of AOK played, including Marko who finished it off with a good overnight session of the Hun Campaign. I was there for three nights in a row, until the (sad, sad, sad…) end.

2. Goodbye Blues by The Hush Sound is out. And it is sick. My favorite so far would probably be “The Boys Are Too Refined”.

3. The Fed cut interest rates. (You guys are interested in some real news, right?)

4. Tourney brackets are out. Let’s hear it, what picks you guys got? Any special upsets? (Helloooo, Winthrop over WSU)

So overall, it’s been a mixture of good/bad things happening. Most bad things involving finals. Most good things involving anything but. I’ve got a date with the 5th floor bookstacks, but I promise I’ll post again soon.
